About
Welcome to Wild River Grille, a culinary gem nestled in the heart of Reno, Nevada, at 17 S Virginia St. Known for its inviting atmosphere and exceptional cuisine, this restaurant offers a unique blend of flavors that celebrates the local bounty and promotes a relaxed yet classy dining experience.
As a food reviewer for Menu Buzz, I was thoroughly impressed by the enticing menu that features an array of dishes ranging from perfectly seared steaks to delectable seafood options. The Filet Mignon, a tender, lean cut of aged beef, is a must-try. Accompanied by duck fat potatoes and delta asparagus, it truly embodies the essence of fine dining. For seafood lovers, the Pan-Seared Alaskan Halibut and Day Boat Scallops shine with their fresh ingredients and thoughtfully paired side dishes, offering a taste of the ocean that is both sophisticated and deeply satisfying.
But it doesn’t stop there. The starters and small plates are equally alluring. I found the Crab and Salmon Cakes with honey mustard aioli to be a delightful beginning to my meal. The Garlic Fennel Clams were another standout, served in a rich broth that begs for bread to soak up every flavorful drop. Wild River Grille balances high-quality dishes with a warm, relaxed vibe, making it suitable for both casual diners and special occasions.

“ Great food and excellent service. The seared pork belly is amazing! All of the flavors go well together. ”
“ Such a great vibe. Tyler was so great to our table and Justin was the best. Our food came out perfectly and Justin made sure the atmosphere was memorable. The food was SO good. ”
“ Great food, relaxed vibe, and solid service – Wild River Grille, Reno After a long day at a convention, a few colleagues and I decided to unwind at Wild River Grille. We started off in the bar area while waiting for our table, catching a bit of the Duke vs. Houston final four game on the TVs. The bar had a laid-back atmosphere—lively but not too loud—which was perfect after a packed day. Once seated, we were lucky to get a spot by the window with a view of the bridge. The dining area has white tablecloths, which gives it a nice touch of class, but it’s not overly formal—just a comfortable, relaxed space that still feels special. There’s also outdoor seating available, which looked like a great option, especially on a pleasant evening. The menu had a wide range of options. We all took our server’s recommendation and went with the pork chop for our main, and we shared an order of mussels to start. The mussels were excellent—served in a rich, beer-based broth with chorizo and tomato. The sauce was packed with flavor, and dipping the bread in it was addictive. The pork chop was a standout. Brined and perfectly cooked, it was juicy and full of flavor, with a nice sear on the outside. It was definitely bigger than the 14 oz listed, so come hungry. I paired it with a glass of Chianti, and it hit the spot. Service was friendly and attentive, and everything came out in good time. We made a reservation online, which was simple and smooth. Pricing was very reasonable for the quality and portions. Overall, Wild River Grille delivered exactly what we were hoping for: great food, a relaxing setting, and a smooth dining experience. I’d absolutely come back next time I’m in Reno. ”
“ I was on a business trip, and this restaurant came highly recommended by my professional associates and an Uber driver. It certainly lived up to their expectations. The food was absolutely delicious, with a wide variety of options to choose from. I opted for the salmon with seared vegetables, a side of gumbo, and ice cream cake for dessert. The service was also impeccable, with the staff checking in on us frequently to ensure everything was to our satisfaction. I chose to sit outside, as the weather was perfect for it. I highly recommend doing the same, especially near or around sunset. I will definitely be returning to this restaurant the next time I'm in Reno. ”
“ This place is fab! I am in town for work and wanted an easy, but good dinner at the bar. Stopped in here because of the reviews. Sat at the bar and my bartender was Taylor. While the food was delish(!!), the service Taylor provided was 200%. She was the perfect balance of polite, personable and professional. It's easy to see she enjoys the place she works and is super knowledgeable about the food and drink menu. I loved listening to the conversations she was having with the other guests as well, all while providing great service and never missing a beat. It's rare to see this level of customer service these days and Taylor has it down! ”
“ We love this restaurant. The food was delicious, and our server was very friendly and helpful. It is a great place to bring family and friends. If you're in the Reno area, add this restaurant to your food list. ”
“ Great tasting burgers and Philly steaks. The service was great. After you eat you can walk around the vagrants at the river across from the restaurant. ”
“ Unbelievable place and I just happened to stumble by it while looking for a quiet place to grab a drink and get some work done. The staff was so relaxed and attentive. William was my bartender and was amazing. I picked my food off his recommendations entirely. Y'all.... The pork belly appetizer was it. Like IT. The 8 pieces of pork were tender and juicy with no care in the world for how scrumptious it was. It melted on my tongue, knowing full well what it was doing to my soul. I felt its seductive tease tie a noose around my taste buds and bathe them in ambrosia. Honestly, I want to get my life right after that. I called my mom and told her I loved her. I signed up for a book club. I even called my college crush and asked her out; we're having dinner next week. 10 out of 10, well done and worth it. ”
